Anne joined The Long Run in 2011, leading on the management and coordination of The Long Run’s global community of leaders in sustainability. She took the role of Technical Assistance Advisor in 2016 to help members to embrace responsible practices, become more competitive and resilient through innovation and strategic business development through on-site and remote tailor-made technical assistance by sharing information, knowledge and experiences across the membership. Prior to joining The Long Run, she worked at the University of Exeter Business School, United Kingdom as a Research Associate focusing on climate change mitigation and business innovation. She hols a PhD in Management, where she focussed on leadership on best practice in environmental management in small tourism businesses and a postgraduate Diploma in Geography, Environmental and Resource Economics, Environmental Protection. The Long Run joined forces with Preferred by Nature (previously NEPCon) in March 2020, to accelerate the expansion of nature conservation by the private sector and within the tourism industry.
Marco was born in Germany and holds a degree in business administration with focus on hotel and gastronomy management and specialized in marketing. He looks back at a successful career in the hotel industry working in different sales positions for an international hotel group and as Director of Sales of a family owned hotel management company. In mid-2015, Marco co-founded TourCert and was appointed as managing partner. In the following years he developed TourCert together with his team to an internationally renowned innovation and certification company for sustainable tourism. The modular and innovative system and the long-lasting experience enables TourCert to manage major projects in the field of development cooperation with mandates such as the European commission, national governments, associations or foundations. Currently in Eastern Europe (Bulgaria, Romania), Latin America (Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica) but also starting initiatives in Africa and Asia.
Violet Cuffy holds a PhD in Sustainable Tourism Management from University of Surrey, UK. She is a Senior Lecturer in Events and Tourism Management in the International Business, Marketing and Tourism Department, University of Bedfordshire. Former Commonwealth Scholar and Scholar of the Organisation of American States. Teaching: Tourism, Events and Hospitality; and Small Business Management. Research interests: Tourism Heritage & Culture; Diaspora Tourism, Destination Development & Marketing. Background: Tourism and small business consultancy. Editor books: ‘Lifelong Learning for Tourism: an international perspective’ (Routledge 2018); and Events Tourism: conceptual issues and perspectives (Routledge 2021). Funded research project, Arts Humanities Research Council (AHRC): Dominica as a centre of excellence of the promotion and preservation of the creole culture.
Ms Mona Ji Hyun Yang is a PhD candidate in sustainable and responsible tourism, specialised in child rights. Her doctoral research explores tourism impacts on host children in developing countries, using innovative visual research methods including drawing and photo-elicitation interviews to listen to the children’s voices. She has presented her research at multiple renowned international conferences, including the Council for Australasian Tourism and Hospitality Education (CAUTHE) 2021 and Critical Tourism Studies (CTS) 2020; and several universities, including Sejong university in Korea and Rosen College of Hospitality Management in the USA. Mona also has published several journal articles in reputable journals such as Tourism Management (impact factor: 7.432) and Tourism Recreation Research (impact factor: 1.36). Currently, she is working on a project to empower children in developing countries through digital entrepreneurial skills.

Carmen Nibigira is a seasoned tourism policy analyst with over 19 years’ experience in the hotel and tourism industry in Africa and Europe. She is the former regional Coordinator of the East Africa Tourism Platform and a former Director General of the Burundi National Tourism Office. She has previously managed tour operation companies in Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda as well as managed an international hotel in Tanzania.
Carmen is a seasoned tourism policy analyst. She has also conducted tourism and hospitality related capacity building training in Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Togo and Republic of Congo. As a tourism consultant, Carmen has advised governments and non-governmental organizations on tourism planning, strategy and business competitiveness in Central, South and West of Africa.
Dr. Fredrick N. Oduori is the Director, Research & Innovation at the School of Tourism & Hospitality at Strathmore University. He is a lecturer in Marketing & Strategy at Strathmore University School of Tourism and Hospitality (STH) and consultant in all aspects of competitive strategy, marketing and general management.
Rose is a qualified economist with experience in natural resources management at both strategic and operational levels primarily focussed on tourism development. Currently, she is the Support Services Manager of the Climate Friendly Travel (CFT) Registry, the only online tool linked to the portal of the United Nations Framework on Climate Change Convention (UNFCCC), developed under SUNxMalta, to capture and record decarbonisation initiatives by the Travel and Tourism industry. She is also the Chairperson of the Sustainable Tourism Committee of Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe and also serves on the Board of the Conservation and Wildlife Fund.

She is is also the founder of The Africa Marketeers and has expansive experience in safari lodge management in Tanzania.
Ljubica Kneževic Cvelbar (PhD) is full professor at the School of Business and Economics, University of Ljubljana and a visiting professor at more than 30 universities worldwide. She holds a PhD in Economics at University of Ljubljana, while her expertise is in the fields of tourism economics and sustainable development. Ljubica has 15 years of academic and professional experience as a professor, researcher and consultant. She has been involved as a researcher or consultant in more than 50 projects including European Commission funded projects, UNDP grants, research and consulting projects for national governments of Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, and Montenegro as well as many consultancy projects for local municipalities and SMEs.
