
Ben Peterson is a Canadian entrepreneur and impact leader based in Nairobi, Kenya, with a career dedicated to building systems that foster connection and understanding. He began his journey in Ghana’s Ministry of Justice before founding Journalists for Human Rights (JHR), growing it into Canada’s largest international media development organization. He later led AHL Venture Partners’ Nairobi office, investing in high-impact companies like Twiga Foods and M-Kopa. Since 2020, he has been the Co-Founder and CEO of Purple Elephant Ventures (PEV), driving innovation in Africa’s tourism industry. His work has earned him numerous accolades, including Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 Award and the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM).
