STTA convened its first series of the historic #stas2020 virtual edition on 7th July 2020, under the theme of Sustainability and optimizing opportunities for Africa. The event covered four sessions; Tourism and COVID-19: Time to rethink tourism in Africa; Tourism post COVID-19: why building tourism resilience will require reshaping alliances and partnerships; Building tourism resilience though revenue retention in destinations; and, why the restart of tourism will be about sustainability, and what this means for tourism policy in Africa.
