
Nancy Ogonje is an influential conservation leader driving transformative action at the intersection of ecosystems, policy, and development. As the Executive Director of the East African Wild Life Society and President of The Consortium for the Conservation of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems in the Western Indian Ocean (“WIO-C”), she advances regional collaboration to protect critical landscapes and seascapes, including wetlands, forests, wildlife and natural resources. With over two decades of experience, she champions policy-driven, evidence-based solutions and promotes sustainable tourism models that balance ecological health with economic growth, positioning nature as a strategic asset for East Africa’s resilience and prosperity.
