Charlotte Beauvoisin

My passions

I love storytelling. I started writing Diary of Muzungu in 2008 and now contribute to international travel guides (Fodor’s, SafariBookings.com, Bradt).
In 2024 I launched season 1 of The East Africa Travel Podcast inspired by life on the edge of Kibale Forest, a tropical rainforest that’s famous for its 13 species of primate. Nature and birdsong, travel inspiration and upbeat conservation stories are at the heart of the podcast 💚
We’re now finalising Season 2 – the next 20 episodes. (One of the episodes is all about STAS24).

“The day job”
I am a Chartered Institute of Marketing Manager; co-developer of CBI’s digital marketing curriculum since 2021; member of the team piloting CBI’s sustainable tourism curriculum in Uganda and a community-based tourism trainer. I do pro bono promotion for a number of conservation organisations from my home on the edge of Kibale National Park in western Uganda.
