
Prof. Bonface O. Kihima holds a PhD and Msc. in Tourism Management from the University of Lyon 2 in France. He has 15 years of University teaching in the area of tourism management and has supervised several Post graduate students in the area of Tourism. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Tourism and Travel Management at the Technical University of Kenya where he has been a departmental Chair in charge of Hospitality and Tourism programs for the past 10 years. He is widely published in the area of Tourism and is actively involved in Tourism consultancy, curriculum development and student mentorship. His areas of research interest include: Ecotourism/Natural area Tourism, Community Based Tourism, Destination Policy, Planning and Management; Sustainable Tourism, and Tourism Education. He is an active member of the Standards and Best Practices committee of Ecotourism Kenya. He is a member of the Accommodation committee at the Kenya Bureau of Standards and a dedicated member of the Tourism Professional Association. For the last 10 years, he has extensively participated, in peer review of Hospitality and Tourism programs in Kenya both at Undergraduate and Post Graduate levels with the Commission for University Education. In addition, he has on several occasions participated in drafting of Hospitality and Tourism curricula within the Kenyan Universities.
